Ayurveda, a sister science of Yoga, is a timeless gift from the ancient Vedic civilisation, draws upon thousands of years of keen observation of both human beings and the natural world. This profound tradition has cultivated a distinctive approach to health and well-being through the art of observation.
Incorporating Ayurvedic wisdom, even the Greeks recognized the significance of identifying individuals based on their constitution type or humours. In today's world, health often seems depersonalized, with a "one-size-fits-all" mentality. We are inundated with a constant stream of advice, touting the latest superfoods, or cautioning against certain choices. This information overload can be incredibly bewildering, making it challenging to assume control over one's health.
Ayurveda, in contrast, offers a well-established and personalized approach to health. It views everyone as unique, with their distinct constitution or Prakriti. This recognition of individuality forms the foundation for offering tailored advice, timely therapeutic treatments, and expert guidance, ensuring that health and well-being are addressed in a way that resonates with each person's unique needs and characteristics.
As a certified Ayurveda Nutrition and Lifestyle Practitioner, and I'm proud to be registered with the Ayurveda Practitioners Association (APA), the largest Ayurveda body in the UK. My journey into Ayurveda is deeply rooted in my passion for nutrition, which I've nurtured over a long period. My interest in natural approaches to nutrition has been a significant part of my life, but it truly transformed into an integrated way of life when I discovered Ayurveda.
My introduction to Ayurveda took place during a sabbatical to India in 2006. It was during this transformative experience that I became captivated by the remarkable power of Ayurveda to naturally support health and its intimate connection with the practice of yoga. The profound wisdom and holistic approach of Ayurveda resonated deeply with me, and I realised that I had found a path that aligned with my beliefs and aspirations.
Since then, my journey as an Ayurveda Nutrition and Lifestyle Practitioner has been a fulfilling and enriching one. It's my sincere commitment to share the invaluable insights and practices of Ayurveda with others, helping them discover a more harmonious and balanced way of living. Through my Ayurvedic workshops I am passionate about helping people and embrace the transformative potential that Ayurveda and its connection with yoga can bring to their lives.
