A lifelong practice
More than 30 years of practice · Teaching since 2000 · Level 3 certified Iyengar Yoga teacher · Registered Therapy Teacher and mentor
I teach Iyengar Yoga classes in Menston and Burley-in-Wharfedale, near Ilkley in West Yorkshire, as well as workshops and personalised sessions.
I began practising Iyengar Yoga in 1995 and qualified as a teacher in 2000. What began as a personal practice has become a lifelong process of study, teaching and discovery.
More than 30 years later, I remain inspired by the intelligence, precision and depth of the Iyengar Yoga method. Yoga has accompanied me through different stages of life, which is why I believe so strongly in its capacity to meet us where we are and continue developing us.
I am a Level 3 certified Iyengar Yoga teacher, registered Therapy Teacher and mentor. My experience in therapeutic teaching gives me a deeper understanding of how asanas can be adapted and sequenced to support different bodies and circumstances.
My teaching is progressive and attentive. I enjoy helping students understand the actions within an asana, recognise their progress and discover possibilities they may not initially have thought possible.
My teaching is also informed by an interest in Ayurveda, yoga’s traditional sister science. Its understanding of individual constitution, life stages and seasonal rhythms complements my Iyengar Yoga teaching and encourages a more thoughtful, balanced approach to practice.
Above all, I want my classes to be where people receive excellent teaching, feel genuinely welcomed and develop a practice and community that can remain part of their lives.
